REVIEW: Smashbox BB Cream

 Hey guys!

In a few of my previous posts I have mentioned that I use this beauty product regularly and since I have had a few readers ask me about it, so I thought I would do this weeks 'REVIEW' post all about it. It is the Smashbox BB cream SPF 35!

I don't like to wear alot of foundation when I do put it on, and I certainly don't use foundation everyday, and this is mainly because I like to encourage my skin to repair itself (perhaps if i've had a breakout) and just let my skin breathe generally as it is quite sensitive. I do just like to leave my skin alone sometimes and let it do it's thing, in the hope that it stays clear! When Smashbox came to Boots in the UK I was so happy because I had heard alot about this brand but had never tried any of their products. At the time BB creams were also becoming more popular and this one was the first that I tried. And I fell in love with it!

So what is a BB cream?
BB stands for Blemish Balm or Blemish Base, but isn't formulated to fight spots. BB cream is actually a multi-function cream that has some coverage and skin caring properties. BB creams are often found as part of the "tinted moisturiser" range in many brands such as Smashbox. BB creams promise natural-looking skin coverage. BB cream will give you a good base for any other make-up you want to apply almost like a primer, it will also even out complexion similar to tinted moisturisers, hydrates your skin like a normal moisturiser, and covers minor imperfections and redness like a concealer would do. Some BB creams also boast anti-ageing and healing properties.

Smashbox BB cream SPF 35
The Smashbox BB cream comes in 5 different shades (mine is medium), and blend so evenly into your skin creating a radiant  finish that is quite flawless. I have combination skin and this BB cream is nice and light, so you don't feel that you are caking on anything and does not make your skin look too shiny to the point where it looks oily however gives you a dewy hydrated look. This BB cream also comes with a slight tint of foundation and therefore gives you that little bit of coverage whilst still looking natural.

I often feel like I'm not wearing any make up, and actually to be honest you look as though you're not wearing much anyway with this BB cream (I'm hoping you can tell that from the picture below!).

This product is priced at £27 which may seem more expensive than some market favourite BB creams, however you get a good amount in the bottle, a little goes a long way with this product because you only need to use a little amount for your full face. As i said, my colour is medium, and when you first see the colour it seems a little dark, but it literally blends in so well with your skin tone and doesn't make your skin look a different colour!

I like the fact that there is SPF in there, and a relatively high one at 35 too. It's therefore giving your skin some protection.

I couldn't recommend this product more, if you're looking to cut down
on your foundation usage, or looking at alternative coverage that isn't so full on, then this is definitely the product for you. If your skin is looking a little dull in the mornings or throughout the day, or you're going for that natural look that is illuminating, then this BB cream is perfect! My foundation usage has plummeted since I started using this product, but I honestly do not mind at all! There are some great BB creams out there so try some out; I will be trying out a few more that I have heard are really good such as the Bobbi Brown BB cream.

Smashbox BB cream where have you been all my life!

MY RATING:
9/10

Let me know what you think if you use it, or decide to try it out!

Love Nimisha
