Happy New Year!
When thinking about what my first post of 2014 could be I thought what better way to start the year than to share some new year's resolutions. Every year I make some new resolutions and I try my hardest to stick to them, but if you're anything like me they are almost like a novelty that starts to wear off after a while! This year I'm going to make a conscious effort to print them out and keep them pinned up where I can see them and allow myself to remember my hopes and aims for the year. I'm a 'to-do-list' kind of girl and the great thing about that for me is being able to tick things off my list, as I consider them little victories! This can be done in the same way...
Lauren Conrad is my blogging inspiration and I recently saw her do this post and thought it was a great way to get you thinking about your resolutions. I've used similar points to her and have added one at the end, 'I want to continue…' to let you reflect upon yourself and remind yourself why you are fabulous!! Often with resolutions we spend time thinking about the more negative things about ourselves that we always want to improve, and as good as that is, we also have to remember all the great things we are, and that we do already, and that's more of a personal one! Reflect upon that, don't be too harsh on yourself and create some resolutions that allow you to have fun and shine :)
It's a new year and it's an opportunity for a fresh start and the beginning of something maybe new or different. Whatever happened in 2013 was an experience whether good or bad, so look to the new year and the chance to see what it has in store for you.
Here are my resolutions for 2014:
- A habit I'm going to break:
Getting ready quicker and getting places on time!
- A destination I'd like to visit:
The Bahamas and Thailand
- I'm going to work harder at:
Prioritising my work and making more time to exercise
- A beauty tip I want to adopt:
Spending more time looking after my nails
- I'd like to learn something new in:
Playing another instrument, I want to teach myself the guitar
- A project I'd like to finish:
My dissertation and my Masters, and entering the world of work.
- I'd like to spend more time doing:
Exploring, visiting new places, eating at different restaurants and trying new things. We live in a huge world!
- A food I want to eat more of:
Definitely more fresh fruit and veg. And obviously more haloumi cheese
- I want to wear more:
Leather
So fill out the questions for yourself and set your goals. Print them out and stick them up as a reminder, or write them in your diary where you will see them often.
Have a beautiful 2014!
Love Nimisha
xoxo
